City of Las Vegas to Install Surveillance on Flamingo Arroyo Trail

According to an article published in the Las Vegas Sun, the City of Las Vegas is planning to install two dozen specialized surveillance cameras along its Flamingo Arroyo Trail. The cameras are being installed to deter crime along the trail.

The type of cameras to be installed include a type of solar-powered cams with a  loudspeaker that can produce an audible message to deter criminals. This may be similar to methods used in the UK, where human monitors can speak to would-be criminals or vandals through the camera’s loudspeaker.
