Surveillance Cameras Catch Tire Slasher

A Mobile Alabama man caught a vandal on film slashing tires, and is now seeking help in identifying the suspect.

The vandal had struck several cars in the area, and police had been unsuccessful in apprehending him. He’d even struck the same home 4 times.

Fed up with the perceived ineffectiveness of the police, the homeowner installed surveillance cameras all over his property, and is now hoping someone can help identify the man in the surveillance video.

Shoplifter Arrested After Looking at Surveillance Cameras

A Sacramento man was arrested for stealing from a local thrift store after he looked directly at a camera.

He is also being investigated for a car burglary thanks to the same surveillance footage. Because of an extensive criminal history, he faces felony charges in the case.

Delaware increases anti-dumping surveillance program

In Wilmington Delaware, a surveillance system designed to catch people illegally dumping trash  has proved so successful that the city has quickly expanded it.

The program launched four months ago and has proven very successful. Another dozen cameras were just installed in the area.

People violating the dumping laws have their pictures posted on a website where citizens can help identify them, and their photos are passed on to local authorities as well.

Columbus Purse Theft Caught On Video, Named Crime Of the Week

On July 13th, two men and a woman stole a purse from a local furniture store by distracting the salespeople and rummaging behind the counter.

The whole act was caught on video and has been posted on the Crime Stoppers web site and a reward is being offered.

Surveillance Cameras Capture Theft of Historic Gold Bar

In Key West Florida, a gold bar worth over half a million dollars was stolen from a local museum.

The bar was recovered from a Spanish Galleon that had wrecked nearby. The bar was kept in a unique case where visitors could touch and lift it.

San Juan Police Propose All Businesses Install Security Cameras

A rash of burglaries in San Juan has local authorities considering a mandate that all businesses must install security cameras.
