Police Recommend Businesses Have Updated and Properly Installed Surveillance Systems

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

An story published by WALB in Georgia discusses law enforcement recommendations that businesses have up to date and properly installed surveillance systems.

WALB and other stations around the country often will air surveillance footage to help the police and the public identify and capture wanted perpetrators. Unfortunately, many times business’ surveillance is not up to the task. Many businesses still use old VCR-based CCTV, which lack in video quality, lack in appropriate frame-rate, etc. These systems are far less likely to produce the necessary evidence to identify criminals.

Additionally, many systems are installed by end-users or by contractors who do not truly understand how to properly position and direct surveillance cameras to best achieve a satisfactory result.

Georgia police point out that it is vital that businesses update their old systems to current, digital DVR systems, and consult surveillance professionals to assist in installing cameras the right way.

PC Surveillance offers video surveillance equipment and installation services nationwide. Contact us today, and let us help you secure your business premises.

San Jose Police Wear Portable DVR & Camera

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

The LA Times reports that officers in San Jose, California will now be monitored using a body-worn DVR and head-mounted surveillance camera.

The purpose of this new protocol is to cut down on police brutality, use of excessive force, and other police misbehavior that the department has received a significant amount of complaints about. The new devices will allow investigators of police brutality reports to review video of each incident, to verify if brutality occurred. However, the recording of incidents is very much a matter of using the honor system, as officers must start/stop recording on their own.

PC Surveillance offers a body-worn DVR system of this kind, designed for military, law enforcement, and public safety use. The KAISHOT system enables agencies to monitor the actions of their units in real-time using wireless mesh networking technology. KAISHOT also allows for monitoring of an individual officer’s location via GPS, his/her biometric data, such as heartbeat, body temp, etc, and much more.

To learn more about our KAISHOT system, please visit http://www.kaishot.com or call Ryan Temple at (216) 325-1006 Ext 201.
